The circular economy is advancing rapidly with new ISO Standards, significant legislative updates in the European Union (EU), and many countries in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia, exploring or actively implementing policies to advance CE. Nearly all product categories and companies will be affected in some way.

With these changes, businesses need support and guidance to help implement and activate their circular transformation. Those working to advance the circular transition more so than ever also need to be fully up to date with all the new processes, methods and best practice data collection processes.

This advanced workshop led by Leyla Acaroglu is for professionals who want to better understand how to apply the new ISO Circular Economy standards and develop CE strategies for business, along with developing the appropriate measurement and accountability processes for validating and reporting on CE initiatives in tangible and standardized ways.

This workshop includes content on Australia Mandatory climate reporting and Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards.

Program Contents:

Session 1: Introduction to the ISO 59000 Series & relevant legislative requirements overview

Session 2: ISO 59004: Circular economy Vocabulary, principles and guidance for implementation

Session 3: ISO 59010: Circular economy-Guidance on the Transition of Business Models and Value Networks

Session4: ISO 59020: Measuring and Assessing Circularity Performance

The format is one 1.5hr session a week for 4 weeks. These sessions build on each other, so attendance is required for all 4 sessions.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for practitioners in CE and sustainability, business decision-makers and those who want to implement the standards into their businesses, as well as for leaders who need to respond to international legislation around CE.

Systems and design practitioners can also deeply benefit from this workshop. The role of design and systems thinking will be of specific focus given that these are prioritized in the ISO requirements. Thus, systems and design practitioners will gain a lot from seeing the application of our techniques to the CE maturation.
